Tell the Story: The Sky and The Sea; Told
Hiawatha woke in sudden dawn. It was not like the other times he had woken, no rustic grey walls, no old warn quilt, no soft feathery bed underneath him, no familiar red curtains. No, warn and beaten oak nightstand, no shelves lining the walls filled with old trinkets and bits and bobs, no old yellow door. No, it was not like the other times Hiawatha had woken, instead of all the familiar things Hiawatha saw clear dawn stained sky with wisps of clouds gently drifting across the horizon. Instead of chirping birds, Hiawatha was greeted by the sounds of waves, instead of his old bed, he lay on something cold and rolling. It was not like the other times Hiawatha had woken.
----
Hiawatha wakes one morning to find himself standing on the water far out to sea. There is only the sky and the ocean beneath Hiawatha there, except the sea creatures and birds. Here, the water is like the ground, except it rolls like the waves. Hiawatha struggles to understand why and how he got here and how to get back to his home. It's just him and the sky for a while, untill he meets a girl who is beneath the water he stands on. In her perspective, Ilma is standing on the water and the sky is above her. But really, Ilma stands on the surface tension underneath the water and her sky is the water. Together they have to unlock the secrets of the Sky and The Sea in order to find their way back, but in doing so they'll have to band together in ways unimaginable to survive the elements. The more they start to uncover The Sky and The Sea, the more they begin to understand themselves and why they were brought here.
This would be a standalone book/novella with a possible sequel- it depends on how it is written.
