Purple: Royalty or Corruption?

It's quite the question, huh? Was purple associated with corruption because royalty is quite susceptible for corruption or because of some other reason? Deception (the girl in the bottom panel) has a lot of opinions on the matter and related matters.

This scene may or may not make it into Blank Slate's sequel, Deception, which is my project for this year's NaNoWriMo. Here's the first pass at a blurb: How much has Denizen learned truth? How much is lies? Denizen's pretty sure he's got it down or at least slowly learning. But when he's kidnapped by Deception, a villain with the power to make anyone believe her lies, and she tells him a very different story, Denizen is caught between trusting his long lost brother with the heroes or delve into the murky shades of grey between truth and lies with Deception.
