Tell the Story: Those Hands That Held Me; Told

Meljia lives with her grampa in a little cottage far out in the country. She never knew her parents or her gramma nor had any siblings. Out here in the country, her only friends are her grampa, the Woodlin creatures, and the prairie horses. Meljia is a soft-spoken girl and can speak the langue of the animals like her grampa. Her parents and grama could to her grampa tells her when they were alive. Meljia is content in her little world of animals and her grampa and thinks she needs no more. She has one memory of her parents, her mom and dad holding her when she was just a baby. Dad had big worn, calloused hands while her mother had soft but strong hands with long nimble fingers. Gramp tells Meljia about a man named Jireh Jesu, who came to the world to save everyone within it. He tells her that Jireh Jesu died because he loves her and everyone else. He told Her that Jesu rose up and still lives. Grampa tells her about the Golden City where her mom and dad and grama lived with Jireh Jesu, and where grampa will go when he leaves the world. Meljia believes that her grampa tells the truth but she doubts Jireh Jesu really could do what He did. But everything is happy in Meljia's world and she thinks she doesn't need Jireh Jesu. Then her grampa falls ill, turning Meljia's perfect world upside down. Meljia is distraught over her grampa and feels helpless for what to do. Meljia has to strike out on her own to the closest town for help. She leaves the Woodlin creatures to care for her beloved grampa and sets out with her three animal friends. Winnritisha, the prairie horse, Tidalwave, the hawk, and Cinders, the red and black fox. The four encounter many dangers and obstacles along the way, drawing the four friends closer and teaching Meljia how to trust Jireh Jesu for help. She learns that everyone needs help and only Jireh Jesu can help, all you have to do is accept Him into your life.
Those Hands That Held Me is the first book in a four-book series, about a girl named Meljia and her journey through life with Christ.
